Spawners

Empty Spawners, Spawner Eggs, stacking, spawner mobs and the clear lag.

Updated 1 min read

Spawners on Boats N' Bunnies come from crates as Empty Spawners and Spawner Eggs. Place an Empty Spawner, right-click it with a Spawner Egg, and it spawns that mob.

Setting one up

  • Right-click a placed Empty Spawner with a Spawner Egg to pick its mob.
  • Another egg swaps the mob. The old mob is gone and eggs never come back out.
  • Changing the mob of a stack takes one egg per spawner in it.

Get Empty Spawners and Spawner Eggs from the Vote, Weekly and Bounty Crates. See Crates and Keys.

Stacking

  • Your own spawners of one mob in the same chunk join into one stack, up to 150.
  • Right-click a spawner with the same spawner to add it. Sneak to add your whole hand.
  • Someone else's stack is never touched.

Spawning

While a player is within 16 blocks, the stack spawns every 10 to 40 seconds, and every spawner in it adds mobs. Cows, pigs and sheep need grass and light; monsters need darkness.

Spawner mobs

  • They merge into stacks of up to 100, like "12x Cow".
  • They stand still, and one kill takes the whole stack with every mob's drops and XP.

Picking spawners up

  • Anyone with Silk Touch can pick a spawner up, no rank needed. Sneak to take the whole stack.
  • Without Silk Touch a spawner can't be broken, and explosions never break one.
  • Natural spawners from dungeons can be picked up too.

Clear lag

Every 10 minutes, mob stacks of 2 or more and plain junk drops (rotten flesh, bones, arrows, string and similar) are cleared. Single mobs, named items and anything a player dropped stay. The action bar warns you 30 seconds before, then 3, 2, 1.
